Prenatal Favorites

For my second pregnancy, these were some of the things I did that helped:

  • I struggled with some anxiety and moodiness, so taking Ignatia Amara twice a day helped me feel more like myself. It also helped reduce anxious dreams.
  • With my first baby, I had a lot of rib pain and overall body aches. This time I went to the chiropractor every 4-6 weeks, then every 1-2 weeks at the end of the pregnancy.
  • I tried to eat high protein foods so I wasn’t as snacky.
  • I went to yoga every 1-2 weeks. My studio didn't offer Prenatal Yoga, but I had no issues adjusting movements and my midwives said I was fine as long as I stood up slowly and as long as I didn't stay upside down for longer than 30 seconds at a time (at the end of the pregnancy so baby didn't flip).
  • For my prenatal, I took Seeking Health's Optimal Prenatal. I split the dose and had half first thing in the morning and half in the afternoon to get me through my afternoon slump. Because of the high Vitamin D dose, I always felt more energy and wakefulness.

  • At 36 weeks, I started drinking three cups of Euphoric Herbals Womb Wellness tea every day. Since it was summer, I made it the night before in a giant jar and then chilled it in the fridge until I was ready to drink it.
  • At 39 weeks, I got my membranes swept. I also had them swept at 39 weeks and 4 days and I went into labor within a few hours.
  • At 39 weeks and 4 days, I started pumping for about 5 minutes on each side.
